Discover France
Need we say more? Paris is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and beautiful cities in the world. With its glamorous buildings, chic cafés and art galleries, Paris will captivate you to the utmost. Be sure to divide your time between being the ultimate tourist and climbing the Eiffel Tower and behaving like a local (here are some alternative activities to do in Paris!). Go to one of the many bars in the city and have a pastis to enjoy with Parisians for an authentic taste of life in the capital. When it comes to natural beauty, France can rival any other country on the planet. France^s landscapes are as diverse as they are beautiful, with the sparkling coastline of the Côte d^Azur, the mosaic fields of the Loire Valley, the snow-covered Alps and the centuries-old port cities of Normandy. Of course, outdoor enthusiasts will also find something to their liking. Rather than choosing between the mountains and the beach, France offers both and much more. This allows you to get more for your money and make your vacation even more enjoyable. France is steeped in history. Having seen many empires and republics rise and fall, as well as a few bloody revolutions, France^s history is etched on every street corner. Visit the Loire Valley to see and explore a multitude of castles sitting majestically behind perfectly tended gardens. Head down to the Dordogne to see the incredible replica of the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux or book in advance to see the reality in the caves of Font-de-Gaume. You can also spend a day or a town in some of the wonderful old towns and villages of France, such as Provins, south-east of Paris, or Bayeax in Normandy. In this article, we list some of our favorite beautiful villages in France.

The Charming Countryside of Provence
In contrast to the grey skies of Paris and northern France, Provence basks under the Mediterranean sun. This alluring countryside has a rugged and earthy appeal. The rolling hills are covered with a patchwork of small farms, olive groves, sunflowers, and lavender fields. The air is fragrant with the aroma of rosemary, sage, and thyme, herbs that grow in abundance and are used in the local cuisine. In this dreamy landscape, Impressionist painters found inspiration to create vibrant works of art.
Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy
In the quaint pastoral region of Normandy, a landscape of apple orchards, woodlands, and cow pastures dotted with historic castles and picture-perfect towns, Mont Saint-Michel is among France^s top tourist attractions and is number one on a list of Normandy travel destinations.
Reims & its Magnificent Gothic Cathedral
Reims is justifiably placed among France^s list of "Villes d^Art et d^Histoire" ("Cities of Art and History"). Of the town^s three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the most renowned is the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Reims, where French kings were crowned. Joan of Arc escorted Charles VII (the dauphin) here in July of 1429 to be anointed as king.
